Description

Maui's first crop of sunflowers (15 acres) partially takes the place of sugar cane which is no longer grown in abundance on Maui. This photo was taken in April 2017 in the area of Waikapu and west Maui mountain can be seen in the background. A sunflower crop, when harvested, produces biodiesel fuel, sunflower oil for cooking plus oils and lotions for cosmetic purposes. This is a radical sunflower.
